According to the festival organisers, he suffered breathing difficulties while scuba diving. “He was immediately given CPR before being rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared deceased in the ICU around 2:30 PM IST,” the organisers stated.
Assam CM assures Zubeen’s mortal remains will be brought back
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that he was in touch with India’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak N Ambule, to ensure Zubeen’s mortal remains were brought back to Assam at the earliest. In his post on X, he wrote, “I am in constant touch with the High Commissioner of India H.E Dr Shilpak Ambule. We are coordinating to ensure beloved Zubeen’s mortal remains return to Assam at the earliest.
