'Idli Kadai': Dhanush turns emotional at the pre-release event, calls himself a proud Madurai boy

Directed by Dhanush, ‘Idli Kadai’ is set to hit the theatres on October 1. The rural drama stars Dhanush, Nithya Menon, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Parthiban, and many others. The team had a grand audio launch in Chennai, and a pre-release event was held in Coimbatore. Dhanush and the ‘Idli Kadai’ team addressed the fans in Madurai to share insights about the film.

Murugan plays Dhanush’s childhood version in ‘Idli Kadai’, and the young star has a strong screen presence. Murugan’s mother thanked Dhanush for the unexpected opportunity and expressed her gratitude to god for the unbelievable chance. Even though Murugan has acted in multiple roles, his mother hopes that his role in ‘Idli Kadai’ will be a career-changing one. The devoted mother broke down when sharing her thanks, and the heartfelt speech turned Dhanush emotional as the ‘Idli Kadai’ actor was spotted with a teary eye.

Dhanush recalls his parents’ sacrifices

Speaking at the event, Dhanush recalled the hardships his family faced. “My father and mother had no choice then. They walked about 120 kilometers because they didn’t have the money to even come to Madurai. The fact that I am standing on this stage today is because of their sacrifice. Even though they are not here today, they are always in my heart. Like me, my fans also have to climb many stages in their lives,” he said.

Dhanush also shared that Madurai is the place that is associated with his childhood memories. He also recalled the experience of dancing in the middle of the road for the song ‘Ottha Sollala’ during the film Aadukalam. “I am proud to be a Madurai boy,” he said, and thanked producer for hosting shows for fans from Chennai to Madurai.
