Sujeeth’s much awaited and long delayed They Call Him OG starring Pawan Kalyan and Emraan Hashmi has stormed the North American box office with a sensational premiere day performance. The film as per its distributor has crossed the USD 3 million mark and with that it has become the fourth highest premiere day collection ever for a Telugu film in North America. With that Pawan Kalyan led film has gone past two stalwarts of Telugu cinema in the circuit; Jr NTR and Prabhas. Jr NTR’s Devara : Part 1 had collected USD 2.85 million while Prabhas’s Salaar:Part 1- Ceasefire has minted USD 2.6 million, they are now on the 5th and 6th spot in the top 10 list. The current North American leaderboard is led by Nag Ashwin and Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD with USD 3.9 million and is closely followed by SS Rajamouli- Ram Charan and JR NTR’s RRR with USD 3.5 million. The third spot is taken by Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s Pushpa 2-The Rule which had collected USD 3.34 million.While the final figures for OG are yet to come in, it might just throw up a surprise and beat even Pushpa 2 for the third spot.The premiere of the film was in great jeopardy till yesterday as the makers from India were not able to share the content to overseas distributors on time leading to last minute rush for deliveries of hard drives,for few locations Pawan Kalyan’s fan were brought in to make the delivery happen. In India as well, They Call Him OG has already gotten on the record bandwagon by minting the highest for premiere shows with Rs 23 crore collection. The film also features Arjun Das, Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy and Tej Sapru.
