William Shatner, the ‘Star Trek’ actor, called an emergency service in Los Angeles after facing an issue with blood sugar levels on Wednesday afternoon, and is currently recovering. The 94-year-old actor was rushed to a local hospital and is now comfortably resting.

After calling for the paramedics, the Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance arrived as well for precautionary measures, according to TMZ. The prominent actor, who played the role of Charlie Kirk, had previously revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in March 2024. Meanwhile, despite being in his 90s, Shatner keeps himself busy with public appearances and the projects linked to his iconic character.

Back in 2021, the ‘Boston Legal’ actor had travelled to space for 11 minutes on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin shuttle, during which he felt weightlessness as they reached space. When he spoke about his experience at Comic-Con, he revealed that he was terrified to go to space. Nonetheless, the one-of-a-kind travel was “the most profound experience I can imagine” that made him cry after he landed back on Earth, according to The Independent.Shatner said, “My friend Jason Erhlick came to me and said he was seeing these rockets with people going into space. And, wouldn’t it be something if Captain Kirk went up there?” While he added, “And I said, ‘Jason, for God’s sake, man. Nobody cares if Captain Kirk goes to space. It was 55 years ago, man. But I’m doing well, maybe I should go up to space?’”
