‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ has been hogging the limelight left, right, and center. On the one hand, Aryan Khan is being praised for his vision and bold decision to take a satirical dig at Bollywood’s underbelly; on the other hand, the series has found itself in hot water owing to certain controversies. One of the rows was caused owing to the last scene of the series, where Ranbir Kapoor is seen using a vape, which violates the Prohibition of the Electric Cigarettes Act 2019. Thus, the National Human Rights Commission asked the Mumbai Police to take action against the makers, the streaming platform, and Ranbir Kapoor. Days following this controversy, a famous Hollywood star, Leonardo DiCaprio, was seen using a vape in his latest film, ‘One Battle After Another.’ However, reports suggest that this Hollywood star hasn’t fallen into trouble owing to the scene, and here’s why!
Leonardo DiCaprio’s smoking scene doesn’t land him in trouble
According to Bollywood Hungama, all scenes of Leonardo vaping have been blurred. At the same time, a static warning has been added about the consumption of alcohol and nicotine, in the bottom right-hand corner of these scenes.
Additionally, the Central Board of Film Certification asked the studio behind the movie to blur liquor brand labels. Last but not least, an obscene word was asked to be modified, both in the dialogue and the subtitle.
CBFC didn’t ask to change certain sexually explicit scenes
This might come as a surprise or even shock to many, but according to the report of the above-mentioned portal, CBFC didn’t ask to change a few scenes that were quite sexually explicit and suggestive, because they were very crucial to the storyline. Also, the use of the F-word in the film is in abundance.
Fans express agitation over blurred scenes
The report further mentioned that the blurred scenes didn’t go down well with the audience. At the premiere, which was held in Mumbai a couple of days back, audiences didn’t appreciate the blurred shots. Scenes that had Leo holding the e-cigarette in his hands were still fine, but as he vaped, the blurriness caused discomfort to the viewing experience. Interestingly, there was another important scene, where DiCaprio was smoking a joint, which was not blurred or deleted.
