Rahul Dev, who has worked in several film industries, recently talked about actors focusing on bodybuilding instead of working on their acting skills. In an interview, he also talked about struggles he faced in the industry. Dev also expressed that he also wanted to play different roles and not just villainous characters. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rahul Dev talked about actors focusing more on making six-pack abs over polishing their acting skills. He said that a lot of people come to him and say that he is training in acting and gym as well. He shared, “Yaar gym aap tab jao jarur lekin, me yeh isliye keh raha hu kyunki logon ko lagta hai ki yaar exercise bada important hai (Man, go for gym for sure. I am saying this because people think that working out is super important in this industry).

The actor expressed they should focus on working on their skills. Dev added that in the current times, directors, writers, or even casting directors know they want to cast for a role. He stated that if an actor who is not on their mind wants to get on board, he must convince them through his acting. He concluded by saying, “Main uss accha kaam ki baat kar raha hoon jo ab ho raha hai (I am talking about that kind of good work, which is happening now).”

In the same interview, Rahul Dev shared that while he became popular doing negative roles, sometimes he also felt like getting different kinds of characters. The actor further shared that he is not from the industry but an outsider.Rahul Dev shared that when he was trying to learn the craft in his earlier days, that too failed. He said, “Lekin yeh bhi disha galat ho gayi thi ki hum log sirf six-pack banane mein lage hue the (However, here also we went in a wrong direction as everyone was working on their six-pack abs). The actor shared that somehow working on his body helped him get a role in ‘Champion’. He played the villain against Sunny Deol.He said, “Unhe ek balwan negative actor chahiye tha Sunny ke opposite (They wanted someone with a good build against Sunny Deol).”Referring to Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar’ film, Dev said, “Aur unka screen image itna bada tha, matlab yaar, jo aadmi handpump ukhaad ke poori train wapas le aaye Hindustan, sochiye na! (Sunny had a big image on screen. The man who can pull out a hand pump and bring the entire train to Hindustan—he was that person!)”Meanwhile, on the work front, Rahul Dev will be next seen in the multi-starrer film ‘Welcome To The Jungle’.
