Kumar Sanu was married to Rita Bhattacharya but it was being rumoured that the singer is in a relationship with ‘Damini’ actress Meenakshi Seshadri. Reports suggested that Sanu’s involvement with Meenakshi led to his divorce with his first wife. Rumour had it that Sanu met Seshadri at the premiere of Mahesh Bhatt‘s film ‘Jurm’ for which he sang the popular song ‘Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye’. It featured Seshadri along with Vinod Khanna. Since then, Kumar Sanu and the actress were rumoured to be dating. Infact, at that point, his secretary had also confirmed the news with a media portal saying, “Kumar has many ‘girlfriends’ and for now, he is dating the popular actress Meenakshi Seshadri. But the actress married investment banker Harish Mysore. However, years later, in a recent interview, Kumar Sanu had broken silence on these rumours and completely denied it. He had said during a chat with Siddharth Kannan when asked about being a womaniser. He said, “Maine life mein bohot baar suna ke main womaniser hu aur yeh sab baatein. Aap samajh lo, it’s been 23 years since I married Saloni, my second wife. But have you heard about any woman since 23 years? But these were just speculations.” When asked that rumours suggested that Sanu’s first marriage broke due to this actress, he clarified, “Shaadi tooti woh aapsi maamla tha” Kisi ke wajah se nahi. It was just a rumour. I have never met Meenakshi Sheshadri. I have never seen her nor has she seen me. We’ve never even encountered each other. She must also be laughing on being linked with me.” Kumar Sanu has been married to his second wife Saloni Bhattacharya for 23 years now. But before that, he was dating actress Kunickaa Sadanand, who is currently seen in ‘Bigg Boss 19‘. Kunickaa has often spoken about their relationship publicly and even recently on ‘Bigg Boss 19’.
