Hollywood director Tim Burton and Italian actress and model Monica Bellucci are separating, they announced Friday in a statement to AFP.

“It is with much respect and deep care for each other that Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton have decided to part ways,” they said in a joint statement.

News of the split comes just weeks after the actress was seen by the director’s side when he was honoured with a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. He unveiled the star with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, also in attendance. The actors were present at the event, considering their professional history with Burton, stretching back to the 1980s.Tim’s romance with Bellucci came nine years after his high-profile separation. The pair was seen out and about, looking rather smitten after enjoying a romantic trip to Paris together.
