Shah Rukh Khan, was honoured with his first-ever National Film Award at the grand ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, September 23. The actor won the Best Actor in a Leading Role award for his turn in the Atlee directorial ‘Jawan’. Dressed to impress in a sharp black suit, Khan received the award from President Droupadi Murmu.

After his big win, SRK ecstatically took the medal from its case and proudly wore it around his neck. Photos that turned up online, saw the actor admiring the medal and also showing it off to his manager, who was seated a row behind him. The cute clip went viral online, with fans saying, “#SRK showing the medal to Pooja is such a heart-touching moment. Congratulations @iamsrk sir once again for winning the National Award for BEST ACTOR.

SRK strikes a pose with Rani and Vikrant

In the photos doing the rounds online, SRK was even seen striking a pose with fellow awardees Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji. While Vikrant won the award for ’12th Fail’, Rani bagged the award for ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’. The trio, who were seated together, also posed for photos with their medals around their necks.

SRK meet Mohanlal

Meanwhile, SRK was later seen meeting Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke lifetime achievement award. Photos from the ceremony saw SRK extending a warm hug to the superstar.As the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke, Mohanlal was the only awardee who spoke. He said he was deeply humbled to be the youngest recipient, and “only the second ever” from the state to be bestowed with this national recognition.“This moment is not mine alone. It belongs to the entire Malayalam cinema fraternity. I see this award as a collective tribute to our industry, legacy, creativity and resilience,” he said.
