At the 71st National Film Awards in Delhi, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji both received their first National Awards. Khan won Best Actor for ‘Jawan,’ while Mukerji won Best Actress for ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.’ Khan’s gentlemanly gestures towards Mukerji, including holding her saree pallu and fixing her hair, charmed fans.

At the 71st National Film Awards in Delhi, a touching moment won over fans — Shah Rukh Khan was seen holding the pallu of Rani Mukerji’s saree to help her as she took her seat, right after the two were honoured with the Best Actor and Best Actress awards.

It was a milestone evening for both stars. After over 30 years in films, Shah Rukh Khan won his very first National Award, taking home Best Actor for his role in Jawan. Rani Mukerji also bagged her first National Award, winning Best Actress for her deeply moving performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.

Shah Rukh’s thoughtful gestures for Rani Mukerji

For the occasion, she wore a brown silk saree with a golden border, paired with a half-sleeved blouse. But the highlight was Shah Rukh’s sweet gesture — as Rani took her seat, he carefully held her saree’s pallu to make sure it didn’t get caught in the drape.In another clip, Shah Rukh was seen sweetly fixing Rani’s hair while chatting with her, and even gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek. His affectionate gesture once again showed why he is adored as a true star.

Fans shower love on social media

As soon as the videos and photos from the prestigious ceremony started doing the rounds on social media, likes and comments poured in from all sides. While one fan wrote, ‘No one can be a better gentleman than SRK. Every time’, another one added, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and KANK nostalgia’. A fan also commented, ‘Ek hi toh dil hai, kitna bar jeetoge SRK babu?’Vikrant Massey also received the Best Actor award for 12th Fail at the ceremony. The prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award was presented to Mohanlal for his outstanding contribution to cinema.
