Just a day after Lawyers of Sean “Diddy” Combs urged a judge to sentence him to no more than 14 months in prison, the music mogul has been slapped with another lawsuit. Diddy, on Wednesday, was hit with another legal battle when his longtime stylist, Deonte Nash, filed a lawsuit accusing him of “a decade of sexual and physical assault, sexual and verbal harassment, trafficking, degradation and humiliation, threats to his life and well-being, stalking, control, and psychological manipulation.“
About the new lawsuit
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Nash alleges that his employment under Diddy turned into a “nightmare,” claiming that he was subjected to a pattern of sexual and physical assault. He claimed that the “horrors” he endured during his time working for the hip-hop star continue to affect him today. As per the lawsuit, he listed several incidents, including a party in 2013 or 2014 where Diddy allegedly ‘exposed himself’ in front of Nash and other employees. He also alleged that he was groped on multiple occasions without consent, and that Diddy made “sexually charged” remarks on his sexuality, and humiliated him publicly. The documents further allege physical violence, with the singer threatening him and making it clear that “he was only alive because he [Diddy] allowed it.”Nash’s lawyers claimed that even after leaving employment, he continued to receive threats and still does not feel safe. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and has requested a jury trial.
Diddy’s legal team reacts
Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolff, strongly rejected the claims. In a statement to TMZ, she said, “Mr. Nash is another opportunist looking to profit off his proximity to celebrity. This complaint is riddled with falsehoods and stands in stark contrast to the record that has already been established in court.”She continued, “Mr. Combs has dedicated his life and career to uplifting artists, creating opportunities, and building one of the most influential cultural enterprises in the world. Mr. Nash’s tabloid-style accusations are insulting not only to Mr. Combs, but also to the countless individuals who worked honourably and professionally within his companies.”Wolff added that Diddy has “never sexually assaulted anyone – adult or minor, man or woman” and vowed that “the truth will prevail, as it did in his criminal trial.”
Nash’s involvement in the Diddy sex trafficking case
Nash, who previously testified during Diddy’s criminal trial, had at the time denied plans to sue, saying his focus was on “getting out of here.” However, his legal team now argues that the threats and trauma have compelled him to seek justice through civil court.
