'My film was shot before Pahalgam attack': Diljit Dosanjh addresses Sardaarji 3 controversy with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir
Diljit Dosanjh addressed controversies surrounding his film ‘Sardaarji 3’ and an India-Pakistan match during his Malaysia concert. He clarified the film’s shooting timeline predated the Pahalgam terror attack, expressing sorrow for the victims. Dosanjh emphasized his respect for the Indian flag and countered accusations of being anti-national, stating Punjabis and Sikhs would never betray the nation.

Diljit Dosanjh has finally spoken about the Sardaarji 3 row, the Pahalgam terror attack, and the India-Pakistan match. During his Malaysia concert, he clarified that the film was shot before the attack, while the match took place after it. He added that he has many answers but has chosen to stay silent until now.

Several videos of Diljit Dosanjh saluting the National Flag have been shared widely on social media. He said, “Woh mere desh da jhanda hai (That’s my country’s flag). Always respect.” He then took permission from the audience to speak about a few things. He spoke in Punjabi, “When my film Sardaarji 3 was shot in February, the matches were being played.”

Clarifies timeline of shooting and attack

Diljit expressed his sorrow over the Pahalgam terror attack, which occurred on April 22 and claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists. He said, “After that, the tragic Pahalgam terror attack happened. At that time, and even now, we have always prayed that the terrorists should receive strict punishment. The difference is that my film was shot before the attack, and the match was played after the attack.”The singer further added, “The national media tried their best to portray me as anti-national, but Punjabis and the Sikh community could never go against the nation.”

Chooses silence over negativity

“I have many answers, but I kept quiet, kept everything inside me. I didn’t speak. I have many answers. Whoever tells you anything, you shouldn’t take that poison inside you. I have learned that from life. So I didn’t say anything…There are a lot of things more to say, but I don’t want to do that, I don’t want to do that s***,” he added.Earlier this year, Diljit faced criticism for casting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3 amid ongoing India-Pakistan tensions. The film, also starring Neeru Bajwa, Gulshan Grover, and Sapna Pabbi, was directed by Amar Hundal and released overseas on June 27.
