Ektaa Kapoor has set the record straight on her recent viral post about Ozempic, clarifying that it was not aimed at Ram Kapoor. She stated her video was personal and related to body image and self-confidence, but people misinterpreted it as a dig at the actor.
Context behind the post
At India Today Conclave Mumbai 2025, Ektaa said, “This was exactly one week before I launched the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain promo, where the main character tries to fit into a medium. The promo was about body shaming, self-doubt, and self-assurance. Somehow, people took my post and spun it into something completely unrelated.”
Not about Ram Kapoor
Elaborating further, she added, “I don’t know where Ram Kapoor came into this. He’s not a woman, not on TV right now, and he’s actually lost a lot of weight. It’s like I’m talking about my hair, and someone says, ‘Oh, you called me bald.’ Why would I do that?”
The original social media video
Earlier this year, Ektaa had shared a video on her social media handle and said, “What do I do? I’ve gained a lot of weight. Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet? Mounjaro? Ozempic? All of the above? Zip my mouth? Ya chhod dun? Hum bade hi acche lagte hain (Or shall I leave it? Because I look good just the way I am)!” In the caption, she also wrote: “Ozempic ho jaye.” Apparently, the ‘bade hi acche lagte hain’ line made many believe that she was talking about Ram Kapoor.
Gautami Kapoor ’s reaction
After her post, Ram Kapoor’s wife, Gautami Kapoor reacted to the same and said, “Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet? Should I take Mounjaro? Should I take Ozempic (pharmaceutical drugs), or all of the above? Or should I just zip my mouth? But I think mere liye gym hi kaafi hai (For me, the gym is enough). Kyunki humein bade nahi, chhote hi achhe lagte hain.”
